UNESCO
World Heritage Middle Rhine Valley
|
Since
June, 2002 Ruedesheim on the Rhine and the Upper Middle Rhine
Valley belongs to the protected world heritage of UNESCO. With
it UNESCO appreciated the Upper Middle Rhine Valley as a man-made
landscape of big variety and beauty.
The unusual
wealth of the scenery of cultural reports and association’s
historical as well as artistic kind were emphasised. His special
appearance owes the world heritage site on the one hand to the
natural form of the river scenery, on the other hand, of the creation
by the people.
Beyond it, the meaning of the Rhine which shows one
of the most important traffic routes for the cultural exchange
between the
Mediterranean region and the north of Europe since 2 millenniums
was also appreciated.
